Tuesday Tool-Tip – DIY Corner Clamping Jig

When I am building something that needs a 90 degree (right angle) corner I find it difficult to get it right (pun intended!). It’s easy to align them but hard to keep them there. So this weeks Tool-Tip is to make Corner Clamping Jigs.

I have found two types and they are both easy to make. You should choose the one that matches your clamps and clamping style. You can adjust the jig sizes to fit your space or project.

–The first one comes from: http://stonehavenlife.com/make-a-right-angle-clamping-jig/

It is simple yet the clamps appear to be some distance away from the corner.

–The second one is from: https://www.instructables.com/id/Clamping-Squares/

This DIY Jig is also simple. They are smaller and the clamps are closer to the corner, and there is a step by step guide to make them.

I am going to make the second ones as soon as I can find some scrap plywood in my shop.

Hope this helps and let me know what you think!
